Eddie Rockets Weekly Instagram Competition

Eddie Rockets, the most amazing tasting casual restaurant in Ireland, have recently announced via their Facebook page that they will be holding a weekly competition via the social network Instagram. All you have to do is upload a picture of your Eddie Rockets food and tag it with the hashtag 'Eddie Rockets'.

Each week they will choose one person who will receive vouchers for Eddie Rockets, Ireland! Unfortunately this could mean that I'd find myself in an Eddie Rocket/Instagram loop: I have to keep going to Eddie Rockets at least once a week so I can enter the vouchers competition once a week!

Super Size!!

I've had this picture on my phone for a while now and kept forgetting to post it. On the right is a 'regular' sized soft drink from Burger King. On the right is and extra large (I don't think they're allowed to call is supersize anymore!). The different is ridiculous! The regular looks tiny!!

I should have also taken a picture of the chips/fries though. There was barely a difference in those- The large portion was actually quite average sized. 

I'm not sure whether I love or hate these Ted Baker flip flops.

The thought of plastic flip flops fills me with dread. they remind me of those jelly sandals that girls used to wear back in the nineties *shudder*. These Ted Baker flip flops, however, seem really cute! I love the bows on the front. I'm not a huge fan of the pink ones, but the black are nice and if I was buying a pair I'd choose the white/cream ones.

I might actually purchase these for my trip to Key West, Florida in June- I don't have any nice flip flops at the moment.

My New Top Shop Dress

I bought this dress for a night out with the nerds from college. It was 42euro but it was slightly damaged so I got it for 37euro!  (It wasn't actually damaged, there was just a few loose  threads that I easily cut away). 

The description on the internet said that it has peplums (which I normally hate) but I wouldn't really call those ruffles peplums?? I really loved the coral colour and I liked how it showed off enough skin to be fun but was still classy and ladylike. I wore it with ankle boots. The one problem was that I was worried the chiffon would tear easily if I got caught it on anything. 

It was from the Wal G brand stocked in Top Shop which I would generally describe as 'casual nighttime'.  

We went to Capitol first for some cocktails and then on to Dicey's Garden where I had the most amazing burger from the bbq there at around 2am!! I had gotten my make up done earlier at the Bobbi Brown concession stand in Brown Thomas which I was really happy with. 

Salad Time Of Year (Sad Face)

I've put on a bit of weight lately so I'm restarting my gym routine and healthy eating.  I decided to go lo-carb for today,  just to give must metabolism a kick start.  For breakfast I had scrambled eggs with ham and full fat butter. Pictured is my salad for lunch at college:  Mixed leaves, chicken and raw red peppers all smothered in REAL mayonnaise. It actually doesn't taste too bad!

Irish Preview: Oz the Great and Powerful

My sister scored some tickets to a preview of Oz The Great And Powerful (it's not released in Ireland for nearly another week!). Although it was very early for a Sunday we arrived by 10am to the Odeon at the Point Village. It was my first time attending this particular cinema so I was curious as to what it would be like (it's quite new and fancy!). Oz tells the story of how the Wizard of Oz first came to be king of the Emerald City and also how his actions caused Theadora to become such a wicked witch.

Upon arrival we walked the Yellow Brick Road in the foyer where it had been made to look like Oz with huge posters, trees, plants and even a smoke machine! Here a photographer took our photo. This is myself and my two older sisters.



I really loved the film. I had seen a trailer for it in 3d when I went to see The Hobbit so I was very excited when Amy rang to say she had tickets for it. I thought that Michelle Williams played Glynda so well and looked beautiful throughout (When does she ever not?!). Mila Kunis played Theadora in some lovely tight, leather pants (I thought this was meant to be a kid's movie?!) however I never really grew to like her character. I found her to be quite dopey at the start and her character was never really developed as she became evil throughout the movie (I understand this as the film was written around the character of the wizard).

James Franco gave a good impression of the wizard, I expected him to go through a rite of passage from an illusionist to a full-blown conjurer  however this never happened. Throughout the film from start to finish he was a conman and an unlikeably one at that. I suppose this could be a factor as to why critics have slated his performance so much- He played an unexpectedly mean character!

We were also given custom 'Oz' 3-d glasses!


There were some token 'celebrities' present of course such as Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh and Cathal Gaffney of Brown Bag Films. 

The only disappointment of the morning was the packet of Yorkie Man-size Buttons that Enid bought. We all agreed that the Nestle chocolate just isn't nice when it's not in 'chunks' ala Yorkie bar. And also there wasn't many buttons actually in the packet!

02 Eat Kittens?!

I saw this ad for Three in town and I thought it was great! It definitely caught my eye anyway- and isn't that the whole point of advertisements?! I'm not sure what the small text says to be honest-  I must find out!

Update: Apparently there's also one which alleges that Vodafone 'kicks pigeons'... Hehe!
